Where does yoga sit in the context of Indic thought?
Yoga sits within the umbrella of Indic Darśanas (schools of thought/philosophies). It is an orthodox school of thought as it believes in the authority of the Vedas and is theistic as it has a concept of Īśvara (a higher entity/Supreme force). One of the niyamas (observances) is Īśvarapraṇidhāna, meaning surrender to Īśvara.
